Why should I fast?

Our 21-day fast is a time of spiritual renewal, discipline, and intentional focus on God. As a church family, we dedicate these days to prayer, sacrifice, and seeking God's guidance in key areas of our lives.

How should I fast?

Participants are encouraged to choose one or more of the following options to challenge themselves every day, from sunrise to sunset, for 21 days.
These guidelines are optional and meant to support personal growth and spiritual focus

What are the fast options?

  • No meat and desserts
  • No social media or television
  • No unnecessary spending
  • Fruits, vegetables, and water only (no sugar or salt)
  • Sun-up to sun-down fasting

What should I focus on when fasting?

During this season, we are focusing on Faith, Family, Future, and Fitness—deepening our relationship with God through prayer and His Word, praying for unity and growth in our families and church, seeking God’s direction for what’s ahead, and honoring our bodies by committing to healthy habits.

What does each day look like while fasting?

Each week of the journey is built around a specific focus, guiding us through intentional areas of spiritual growth. Within each week, every day features a focused topic, along with a Scripture reading, a personal prayer, and a practical application. These daily applications are designed to be lived out throughout the day—or practiced consistently over the week—helping move our faith from reflection into action.

What happens if I don't fully fast?

This fast is not about perfection or performance—it’s about intention and surrender. It is an opportunity to quiet the noise, position our hearts to clearly hear from God, and create space for Him to speak, lead, and renew us. Through prayer, sacrifice, and obedience, we realign our lives with God’s will, allowing Him to shape our desires, refine our focus, and guide our steps as we seek Him first.
Day 1: Surrendering to God’s Plan
Focus:
Discipleship
Scripture:
Romans 12:1–2 (ESV) — “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice…”
Prayer:
Lord, I surrender my plans, my career, and my finances to You. Help me trust Your will above my own and follow You with obedience.
Today’s Application:
Take time today to write down the areas where you’re struggling financially or spiritually. Pray over each one and intentionally surrender them to God’s plan.
Day 2: Who Owns Your Money?
Focus:
Finance
Scripture:
Psalm 24:1 (ESV) — “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it…”
Prayer:
Lord, help me see my money as Yours, not mine. Teach me to steward what You’ve entrusted to me with wisdom, discipline, and generosity.
Application:
Track your spending today and reflect honestly: Are your financial choices honoring God? Ask Him to realign your habits with His priorities.
Day 3: Trusting God Over Fear
Focus:
Discipleship
Scripture:
Matthew 6:24 (ESV) — “You cannot serve both God and money.”
Prayer:
Lord, free me from fear and teach me to trust You. Help me choose faith over anxiety and submit every concern to Your care.
Application:
Identify one financial or life worry that’s been weighing on you. Surrender it to God in prayer, and ask Him to replace fear with peace and direction.
Day 4: Budgeting with Biblical Wisdom
Focus:
Finance
Scripture:
Proverbs 21:5 (ESV) — “The plans of the diligent lead to profit…”
Prayer:
Lord, give me wisdom to steward my money well. Help me be diligent, disciplined, and faithful with what You’ve placed in my hands.
Application:
Create a simple budget today. Track your income, expenses, giving, and savings. Ask God to guide your plan and help you stay consistent.
Day 5: Walking in Your Purpose
Focus:
Discipleship
Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) — “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Prayer:
Lord, help me walk boldly in the purpose You have for my life. Give me clarity, confidence, and obedience as I trust Your plan and follow where You lead.
Application:
Take time today to write down your passions, gifts, and interests. Pray over them and ask God to reveal how they align with your calling and His purpose for your life.
Day 6: Breaking Free from Debt
Focus:
Finance
Scripture:
Proverbs 22:7 (ESV) — “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.”
Prayer:
Lord, help me make wise financial choices. Give me discipline, patience, and wisdom as I work toward freedom and faithful stewardship.
Application:
Identify one debt you want to reduce or eliminate. Create a realistic plan to begin paying it down and ask God for guidance and consistency as you take this step.
Day 7: Resting in God’s Provision
Focus:
Discipleship
Scripture:
Exodus 20:8 (ESV) — “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
Prayer:
Lord, help me trust that You are my provider. Teach me to rest in You, release control, and find peace knowing You are at work even when I pause.
Application:
Intentionally set aside time today to rest in God’s presence. Fast from financial stress and busyness, and choose to trust Him instead of striving.
